Syracuse had its first Parents’ Weekend

Parents of more than 1,000 students visited Syracuse on the last weekend of October. Following Chancellor Tolley’s address at Hendrick’s Chapel, parents visited the University’s most modern buildings, including E.I. White College of Law, Women’s Building, Special Education and Lowe Art Centers. Parents ate with their children in Watson and Shaw dining halls.
Twenty-five thousand spectators watched the twelfth struggle between the Orangemen and the Holy Cross Crusaders. The half-time conga and hat dance by SU’s Marching Band were dedicated to the parents. After the game, coffees were held in Lowe and the Women’s Building. Saturday evening completed the Weekend with “Off the Record” presented by Boar’s Head in the Women’s Building.
